Dirac’s Quantum interviews now online

Dirac’s recollections of the history of quantum theory, given in five interviews with Thomas Kuhn and Eugene Wigner in 1962-3, are now available online. Graham says: ‘These are the most informative Dirac’s interviews ever gave on the history of quantum physics. He began them shortly before his sixtieth birthday, when he appears to have decided to ‘open up’ a little. Most striking is the emphasis Dirac gave to his early family life. In no other interview in this series for the Archive for the History of Quantum Physics did a physicist volunteer as much detail about his upbringing and present it as an important influence on his intellectual development.’
