Simon Donaldson: ‘The Universe Speaks in Numbers’ podcast

Sir Simon Donaldson is one of the most accomplished mathematicians of the past fifty years. He did made some of his most influential research when he was developing gauge theories, which physicists established in the 1960s and 1970s which describe the inner workings of atoms. In this interview, he discusses that early breakthrough, how he became interested in physics, and his views about working creatively alongside theoretical physicists.

This and other interviews in the series – given by mathematicians, physicists and others to Graham – are available on the podcast The Universe Speaks in Numbers
